About Us :

 Government Primary School, Madukarai was established in 1952 by the French Government of puducherry. Former chief minister of Puducherry was a student of this school. Our school gives equal concentration on curricular and co- curricular activities. we provide free and quality education to the rural students of  our locality.

English is the medium of instruction. Parent -Teacher association and school management committee has an active role in the development of school infrastructure and academic achievements.

Festival celebrations

National festivals and annual day are celebrated every year to provide the students opportunity to express their co-curricular skills and to develop their self-esteem.  The celebrations are designed in a manner that no student is left idle without any role in these celebrations.

                              

Preparing for competitive examination

We prepare class 5 students to appear the competitive examination conducted by JawaharNavodhayaVidyalayaschool for their class 6 admission under the rural talented children quota. 4 studentswere selected for the admission to the academic year 2013-14.

Teaching learning methodologies

We provide (CAL) Computer Aided Learning to children on specific subjects and topics. we include Activity based learning in the teaching learning process and follow continuous and comprehensive evaluation system with the active participation of 11 dedicated teaching staff. We use phonetics method to develop English reading among children and create a better environment to enable the children to speak English.

National level competitions

  Our students have participated in the National level painting competition conducted by the Ministryof Power and National Ground Water Board on three consecutive years . Ours’ is the only Government school in the UT to won the top places in the UT level competitions and participated in the National level competitions at New Delhi.  We help the children in participating various zonal level,regional level and UT level competitions conducted by the Government as well as other organizations. Our students won first prize in primary level drawing competition for five consecutive years(2007 to 2011) in the regional level (rural) competition conducted on children’s day by the education department . We have good achievement records in competition such as Elocution, Fancy dress, Quiz,Dance competition and science exhibition conducted on various occasion by the Education department.

                                                            

Eco- friendly environment

Our’s is an Eco- friendly school. We segregate wastes and prepare compost. We maintain school garden having herbal plants such as Thulasi,lemon grass,pirandai,vallarai,aloevera,karisalaankanni,hibiscus,keezhanelli,thoothuvalai,karpooravalli,siriyaanangai,periyaanangai,pencillinetc., and trees such as Malaivembu ,Rain tree,Marudham, magizham ,peepul, odhiyan, pungan, elandhai , naaval, neem, sarakondrai etc.,  The waste water from the school is used for the garden itself.

Awareness programmes

              We involve students in conducting environment awareness programs to the parents on different occasion. As part of the programwe distribute 100 tree saplings to the students every year from 2005.

We develop good eating habits and cleanliness to the students.

                                                         

Each and every activity of the school is guided and monitoredby our Deputy Inspector of Schools. We decide to create awareness on agriculture and have proposal of celebrating an ‘Agricultural week’ which includes meeting farmers, visit to farms and exhibition.
